amidst the silliness. WE aim to change the face of women’s health.
WHY THOUGH?
-
✽
Fibroids affect 80% of women at some point in their lives. disproportionately black and post menopausal women.
I was neither.
-
✽
We found out mine are due to a condition called Hereditary Leiomyoma and Renal Cell Carcinoma.
(HLRCC)
its a horrible google. RIGHT NOW.
-
✽
HLRCC is very rarely diagnosed.
I believe this is because fibroids are underesearched, as are their carriers. and the other symptom of HLRCC is renal cancer, and by that time it makes sense that the lengthy process of genetic diagnostics takes a back seat?
-
✽
It’s caused by a fumarate deficiency, a protein that controls the cell membrane and causes fibroids (uterine AND SKIN).
-
✽
I also believe there is a huge link between uterine complications and trauma. womens bodies worldwide are not studied enough. our pain is continuously minimised.
-
✽
THIS film is the visceral reaction to a Chernobyl style accumulation of personal nightmares, all of which may have been avoided if not for being a woman. yeah. brutal.
